LaTeX writing for University of Alberta researchers
The University of Alberta is in Edmonton. Computing science, engineering, and the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) sit on the same campus, and a lot of that work still ends in a LaTeX thesis, a journal article, or a conference paper.
This page is the U of A offer: 50% off Bibby Research Pro with the code Alberta50. Bibby is an online LaTeX editor. It is not the university's official thesis class, and the coupon is not a campus site license.
What to open first
Coursework and honours projects usually need a thesis or report template. Conference submissions from Amii and Computing Science more often need a NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR starter. Both are in the free template gallery, and you can compile them in the browser without a local TeX install.
Citations
Search for a paper, drop the BibTeX into the project, and cite it in the text. The BibTeX validator checks missing fields and duplicate keys before you send a draft to your supervisor.
How the discount works
Create a free account, then apply Alberta50 at checkout for Research Pro. The free editor is enough to open a template and compile. Pro adds collaboration, citation search, and the rest of the research tools.
